The way I made mine was simply making a circle for the toe, increasing until the desired length, double crocheting until the heel, forming the heel, then joining and forming the leg of the stocking. You can get different shapes by increasing and decreasing in different spots. But seeing as I'm a total beginner with crochet, I was really happy with how these turned out.
